PS210W

PS210W

The PS210W is a 2-port wireless device server that connects RS-232 based serial devices to the wireless network with advanced features such as flexible operation mode, TCP/UDP multicasting, telnet COM port control protocol support (RFC2217 compliant), SSL encryption, and port event handling.

On the network interface side, the PS210W incorporate 802.11b/g type wireless network interface. In addition, it has a 10/100 Base-T port for Backup Configuration purposes. The PS210W supports both infrastructure and ad-hoc (peer-to-peer wireless networking) operation modes. When working in infrastructure mode, the PS210W transmits serial device data to the host PC via an access point. Ad-hoc mode provides a full-duplex serial exchange between serial devices through the PS210W and without using any access point.

On the serial side, the PS210W support RS-232 serial devices via RJ45 type connector and supports data transfer speeds from 300 bps to 460 Kbps. Built-in ESD surge protection is added on every signal to safeguard your serial devices from electrical interference, surges or spikes that could interrupt the system operation.

The PS210W provides enterprise-class WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and 802.11i compliant wireless security through advanced AES encryption for complete data privacy and secure mutual authentication services. Further, the PS210W supports standard 64/128-bit WEP protocol to protect data being transmitted over a wireless LAN network. Further, for secure data communication between a client and a server, SSL and RC4 encryption.

These security features enable customers to connect virtually any serial device and securely collect, track, measure, monitor and control critical device information through an organization's wireless LAN infrastructure.

The PS210W is ideal for connecting devices used in M2M automation applications such as industrial applications that require data logging, wireless sensor control and monitoring in production facilities, building and point-of-sale, warehouse, and medical applications where running Ethernet cables is not practical or possible.
