Conventionally, when an 802.11b device is present inside a 802.11g environment, the performance of the entire wireless network can be brought down to the same level as the 802.11b speed (or worse). This has been a particular challenging issue as the wireless networks are based on sharing architecture. The OvisLink 802.11g family are equipped with the latest Nitro Mode technology to lessen the b+g collision problem. Nitro mode adds "RTD/CTS" packet in front of the "11g" packets to avoid the collision and the interference with "11b" clients. Furthermore, Packet Bursting is used to extend the timing for "11g" traffic. The end result is higher overall performance in the real world environment.
