The AirLive WL-5404AR is designed to offer the maximum wireless and routing performance in the industry. It is built around a 166Mhz Brecis MSP RISC processor that offers IP sharing performance at up to 95Mbps. This means it is capable of handling the fastest broadband technology today such as FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and VDSL. With the routing speed as fast as the LAN connection, it is even ready for the tomorrow's broadband technology.
The router is equipped four 10/100Mbps LAN ports with Auto MDI/MID-X function. But for those who prefers to forgo wires together. OvisLink has integrated the fastest wireless solution into the device. Fully compliant with the latest IEEE 802.11G standard, the router allows high speed wireless connection at the same frequency spectrum as 802.11b. Rated at 17.5dBm output power, users no longer have to compromise between speed and distance. Best of all, it is compatible with most 802.11g and 802.11b devices. The antenna is detachable to allow upgrade to higher gain antennas.
Conventionally, when an 802.11b device is present inside a 802.11g environment, the performance of the entire wireless network can be brought down to the same level as the 802.11b speed (or worse). This has been a particular challenging issue as the wireless networks are based on sharing architecture. The OvisLink 802.11g family are equipped with the latest Nitro Mode technology to lessen the b+g collision problem. Nitro mode adds "RTD/CTS" packet in front of the "11g" packets to avoid the collision and the interference with "11b" clients. Furthermore, Packet Bursting is used to extend the timing for "11g" traffic. The end result is higher overall performance in the real world environment.
