The Belkin router includes an Easy Setup Wizard. The software eliminates the need for users to deal with complicated information such as IP addresses and host names in order to connect the router to the Internet. The user inserts the CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive and the Easy Setup Wizard takes over the job of determining what type of connection is being used and setting up the router to connect to the Internet Service Provider. Once the router setup is finished, the user has an option to set up more computers, or begin surfing the Internet. The Auto Install Wizard is compatible with Windows 98, 98 SE, Me, 2000, and XP. Compatibility with Mac OS 8.6 and above will be available in December 2002.
