The Sputnik AP 200™ is a rugged, high-powered Wi-Fi-compliant 802.11b wireless network access point (AP). With 200 mWatt transmit output, industry-standard power over Ethernet (PoE) capability and a sealed enclosure, the Sputnik AP 200 is designed for distributed Wi-Fi deployment in hotels, multi-tenant dwellings, airports, and outdoor public venues.

The Sputnik AP 200 is pre-configured to work with the Sputnik AP 160 (as an access gateway) and Sputnik Control Center to provide a managed, long-range wireless network. Simply plug the Sputnik AP 200 into one of the LAN ports on the back of the Sputnik AP 160, add an optional external antenna, and you’re up and running.

The Sputnik AP 200 comes with an industry-standard N-bulkhead antenna connector so you can use a wide assortment of antennas—high-gain, directional, omni-directional or Yagi. Ethernet and AC Power (if not using PoE) connects to the AP 200 through a moisture-proof gland, and the entire unit is sealed with a heavy-duty gasket. The AP 200 is designed for flawless operation in even the harshest outdoor conditions.

In addition to acting as an access point, the Sputnik AP 200 can operate as a repeater, allowing it to communicate with other APs/routers using standard Wireless Distribution System (WDS). This greatly extends the range of your wireless network. Using a directional antenna, a range of several miles is possible.
